ESS’s Automated Feeding System Contributes to Cost Savings

Published on February 28, 2011 at 8:48 AM

ESS Technologies, a company that designs, manufactures and integrates packaging equipment, has introduced a flexible feeding system, called TaskMate to handle the packaging needs for a wide range of products. The TaskMate Flexible Feeding Systems eliminates the need for customization and large floor space.

The TaskMate feeding system has a high speed FANUC multi-axis robot installed in it. This flexible feeder system comes equipped with an end-of-arm tool (EOAT) and the FANUC iRVision system.

The iRVision system enables the robots to locate and select the correct part, irrespective of the orientation of the part on the feeder. The EOAT is capable of handling any product configuration and pays off through cost savings for areas where multiple axis orientation is required. The TaskMate Flexible Feeding System is equipped to handle all product sizes without any additional parts. The system can be integrated easily with other packaging equipment for a wide variety of applications, such as bottle and vial feeding, cap and dropper feeding, pick-and-place assembly processes, and sorting applications.
