VEX Robotics Championship Conducted at Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School

The robotics teams from several schools designed, assembled, and built robots to participate in the VEX Robotics Championship that was held on February 27, 2011. A total of 39 teams participated in the VEX Robotics Championship.

Theory 6 was just one of the teams amongst the 18 schools to participate at the St. Catharines championship, which is a qualifying competition for the April's world VEX Robotics championships to be held in Florida.

During the competition, robots must be capable of moving around a playing field and perform tasks like selecting and depositing plastic rings. Moreover, the robot must be capable of defending itself from the other competing robots. Teams score points when the robot deposits rings.

At last year's championship competition, 12 of the 400 teams worldwide were from  Garden City. Three of the teams from Garden City made it to the finals.
