Coastal Flow Measurement has announced the integration of its BirdDog remote data retrieval system with the Bullhorn remote monitoring system from American Innovations.

These two systems are used for measuring and reporting data discrepancies in oil and gas asset data.

The BirdDog system is built using the latest and advanced communication equipment for collecting data and monitoring filed operations. By merging it with Bullhorn, alarming capabilities are added to it along with data collection. Whenever there is a discrepancy in the collected data, such as the equipment reaching pre-programmed parameters or high or low tank level, the Bullhorn will send alarms through secured satellite or digital cellular networks. The users of BirdDog system will be able to view the data and the alarms in customised web layouts. The communication network is highly secured and only selective users can view it.

These remote data monitoring systems help companies obtain measurement data and correct critical issues without using complex systems such as SCADA. Some of the features of the BirdDog system are security of data access of electronic gas and field data measurements, comprehensive alarm systems for the operating staff as well as archiving of critical data for auditing and data management purposes. This system is widely used in the oil and gas industry for remote flow measurement and monitoring.
