Infographic Highlights Proliferation of Robots in Learning Environments

‘Robot Study Buddies’ infographic was unveiled last week by OnlineSchools.com, a digital resource for online education ranging from kindergarten to graduate school. With this recent innovative launch, robotic technology will be promoted more and more within the learning environments.

At present, classrooms have innovative technologies like iClickers, interactive white boards, and tablets that are turning out be standard tools. However, recent research indicates that study buddies will be established in schools. The Korea Institute of Science and Technology is now working on a project that focuses on developing robots that can offer English instruction to Korean school children.

Spokesperson for OnlineSchools.com, Michelle LaFrance said that robots are considered to be a part of contemporary classroom. This fact can be well understood from the forecast of the U.S. Department of Labor where 60% of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics jobs will be computer-related by the year 2018.

The infographic revealed that robots can even assist students in other activities apart from learning, such as household chores and playing. About 33% of kids said that their ideal robot would be “cool and popular,” while 28 % wants it to be “like a human.”

LaFrance further said that younger generations are more likely to adopt robotic technology. Developing expertise in high tech inventions at an earlier age will lead to pursuing a career in rapidly growing industries.
