Contineo Robotics and Remotec are entering into a partnership to develop life saving technology. Remotec is a subsidiary of Northrop Grumman, the global security firm. The collaboration based in Oklahoma City will improve tactics used by first responders in crisis situations.
The technology used by armed forces to counter explosive devices in American cities and in actual battle will be improved by the project. Remotec President Mike Knopp said that the complexity of the improvised explosive device (IED) threat is continuing to evolve.
In the new collaboration with Contineo Robotics he hoped that Remotec would be able to produce life saving tools such as ground mobile robots. The unmanned vehicles would provide a safe distance from danger for the police and other security professionals. Remotec provides solutions in aerospace, electronics, information systems, shipbuilding and technical services to government and commercial customers.
