PPT Vision Launches M-390 Smart Cameras for Machine-Vision Applications

PPT VISION has released M-390 Smart cameras that offer high-resolution and great precision for machine-vision applications. The new camera series can be utilized as part of the IMPACT M-Series Embedded Vision System, a system with four individually working camera systems executing unique monitoring, guidance or recognition programs.

The innovative layout of the IMPACT M-Series system enables operators to utilize cameras that are exclusively suitable for each of the unique monitoring requirements.

When compared to VGA (640 x 480) vision cameras, the resolution of IMPACT M-390 Smart Cameras is 16 times higher. The four distinct smart cameras of the M-Series System enable identifying defects even at separating parts. The camera offers a right angle view as an optional feature and can be mounted in minimum space.

Bob Heller, Chief Executive Officer of PPT VISION, has stated that the integration of high resolution monitoring accuracy, quick image capture and minimum form factor enables the IMPACT M-Series smart cameras to enhance the functional abilities of vision systems. He added that their smart cameras offer exceptional machine vision configuration and incorporation for various industrial automation applications.

By using a single vision processor, users can carry out four individual inspections by means of the newly launched M-Series Embedded Vision System, eliminating the requirement of procuring expensive guidance or inspection programs. It also minimizes networking and installation time overheads. The M40 Processor is compatible with Microsoft Windows XP operating system by using the universal IMPACT software of the company. The processor transfers information and images exactly to SCADA systems, databases and other system software.

The M-Series offers a high-end machine vision solution for production firms with several monitoring requirements in areas like pharmaceutical, automotives, electronics, consumer products and medical devices.
