Siemens Industry Automation Division Launches Milltronics BW500-L

Siemens Industry Automation Division has released Milltronics BW500/L, a new addition to the Milltronics BW500 belt scale integrator family. Milltronics BW500/L is built exclusively for simple operations such as determining rate, combined weight, loading and speed of belt.

Milltronics BW500/L includes two relays that are programmable SPST form A contacts with a rating of 5A at 250 V AC. During an operation, its automated calibration function helps to save time. The default Milltronics BW500 has five relays. It provides improved batching and PID control in its operations and is ideal for complicated industrial applications.

Both these versions record parameter information in a non-volatile Flash memory. Even if the unit gets disconnected from power, controlling and determining information is always possible. Milltronics BW500 is commonly deployed in food, mining and cement industries. It can function with any weighfeeder or belt scale featuring LVDT (linear variable differential transformer) or six strain gauge load cells for totalize weight and precise flow of large-sized solids.

Both Milltronics BW500 and Milltronics BW500/L can be linked to industrial networks through Profibus DP, Allen Bradley RIO and DeviceNet. They can also be used with Sitrans RD500 remote data manager. Their electronic load cell-balancing feature is patented.

Milltronics BW500 is linked with Milltronics MSI, MMI belt scales and a speed sensor. It has been authorized for legal and custody transfer in several applications such as International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML), Measuring Instruments Directive (MID), National Type Evaluation Program (NTEP), and Electronic Indicator/Totalizer approval from Measurement Canada.
