Weiss Rolls Out Weiss Application Software for User-Programmable Products

Weiss, a developer of automation systems for industrial applications, has developed a new application software program that generates and configures motion control programs for the Weiss user-programmable products.

The Weiss Application Software (WAS) is a Windows-based user interface and serves as a human-machine interface for the automation systems.

WAS is ideal for medium and small-sized manufacturers that outsource the development of control programs. The manufacturers outsource the control programs because of the lack of experience in this subject. WAS simplifies Weiss automation components’ set up procedure by utilizing the teach-in mode or by entering ramps, angles, and paths.

WAS also supports large operations that utilize Weiss components by decreasing the amount of programming, which in turn reduces the system’s lifecycle cost. Weiss stated that the user-programmable components decrease the engineering effort required for the initial configuration.

Weiss’ Managing Partner, Uwe Weiss, commented that the company has been focusing  on manufacturing intelligent components that can handle the devices properly. Uwe Weiss added that the components also offer ease of use for operators lacking in interdisciplinary skills
