A developer of high end business solutions and systems incorporating robotics,artificial intelligence, 3D visualization and modeling, Spatial Integrated Systems (SIS) has entered into a contract with the Office of Naval Research.
SIS was awarded the contract due to the development of an autonomous maritime control and navigation system, the SIS Autonomous Maritime Navigation (AMN).
As per the terms of the three-year contract, SIS will develop advanced Unmanned Maritime Systems and show the technical feasibility of state-of-the-art independent warfare operations. Expected developments will include conducting cooperative and coordinated operations between Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USV), optimization of autonomous systems for being deployed in the real world and the capability to perform Maritime Rules of the Road.
SIS participated in the testing and creation of the CARACaS autonomous control system, a platform to develop advanced unmanned vessel autonomy. It was funded by NAVSEA 05D and the Office of Naval Research.
