The Nautilus 140SSF System is our base radio remote control system. It is capable of remotely controlling and monitoring all of the control functions of a wide range of mining, construction, and industrial equipment such as: LHDs, Continuous Miners, Jumbo Drill rigs, Rock Breakers, Roof Bolters, Longwall Cutters, Locomotives, Cranes and many others. This versatile system has a number of add-on components available for increased functionality.
The Nautilus 140SSF System features "full-feedback monitoring". Every command given by an operator's Portable Control Unit is monitored and checked by the Remote Vehicle Unit and the resulting voltage sent to the LHD interface is measured to make sure it agrees with the command. If it does not, the LHD will automatically be shut down and the operator will be shown a warning message on the Portable Unit's LCD screen.
The Nautilus Remote Vehicle Unit (RVU) can be adjusted in just a few seconds by the customer to remotely control any type of loader and engine. These include all Sandvik/Tamrock Toro, EJC, Atlas Copco/Wagner, Cat/Elphinstone and MTI loaders.
There are many other options that can also be easily selected provided the user has been trained and knows the Supervisor security codes.
Each Nautilus 140SSF system uses a 16 bit CRC check combined with an 8-12 bit identification code to ensure the systems will not malfunction in the presence of extraneous RF signals. As an added precaution the software has "watchdogs" and new triple-redundancy hardware circuits have been added to the Safety Sensor Card. Nautilus keeps track of every system and works with their customers to try to ensure that each system at the mine has a unique radio frequency.
