PI has introduced a new linear motor, which makes use of a ceramic ultrasonic resonator to provide rapid and high-precision motion. This motor can be used instead of the typical motor-lead screw combinations and electromagnetic linear motors. The drives have velocities up to 200 mm/s and are rapid, compact and can be easily integrated.
