This project develops a wheeled robot used to examine a suspicious object from a remote place. The military have long used remote-control robotic machines to defuse bombs.
A typical bomb defusing robot has tracks to maneuver it around, a camera that lets the operator see what it's doing, and a robot arm for manipulating whatever it finds. They are remote-controlled machines operated at a safe distance by a human being.
