The iRobot Corporation has signed a joint development and licensing agreement with InTouch Health to explore potential opportunities for healthcare applications on iRobot platforms such as the iRobot Ava mobile robotics platform.
iRobot Corp is a leading company in delivering robotic technology-based solutions while InTouch Health is a pioneer in both the use of robots in hospitals and various remote presence. The agreement will give extensive cross licensing of the companies patent portfolios and give them both a collaboration of a formidable patent position.
Colin Angle, chairman and CEO of iRobot said that he was very excited about this agreement with InTouch Health, a company with a proven technology that delivers practical robotic solutions in the healthcare market. Together, they would revolutionize how people communicate and deliver information through remote presence.
Yulun Wang, founder and CEO of InTouch Health also expressed similar sentiments. He said that they were looking forward to teaming with iRobot. This agreement allows them to explore ways to address the needs of their rapidly growing market. Together with iRobot, a world leader in practical robots, they will collaborate on the development of ground-breaking new technologies for the healthcare market.
