Adept Technology Showcases Robots in Automate 2011

Adept Technology, a global robotic services and intelligent vision guided robotics provider, celebrated its 28 year old past history in the robotics industry, present and future in a major four day automation event.

It displayed the first direct drive robot, several intelligent Adept mobile platforms that show basic human interface abilities along with line replenishment and media content delivery in warehouse settings; and the fastest parallel robot with USDA acceptance for poultry and meat processing at the Automate 2011 show that was held from March 21-24 in Booth 1063, and in other booths such as the RIA’s 50th Anniversary Tribute Exhibit in Booth 660, the Pavilion Booth 139 and in the entrance of the hall.

Adept  displayed the Adept Quattro s650HS robot, which has a four arm parallel design suitable for high speed kitting, material handling, packaging and sorting applications. It offers several benefits including low footprint owing to embedded amplifiers; sustained and smooth motion at high speed operations; 23% energy savings when compared to their peers; compliance with USDA regulations; tool free removal of arms and platforms for sterilization and cleaning; capacity to handle vision guided applications and conveyor tracking; and Hygienic design with smooth surfaces and sealed mechanisms.

In Booth 1063, three Adept MT400 mobile robots which are powered by Adept Motivity were  displayed to show how the goods could be efficiently moved via peopled spaces automatically from a processing cell. These robots could speak, respond, perform tasks, and carry out other jobs routinely. The show hall entrance saw the Adept WelcomeBot greeting the show attendees in the RIA booth. The Adept MT490 is used for constructing a map by making use of a joystick control to drive the robot all over the facility, and use a MobilePlanner to call buttons, enjoy path planning, driving behaviors, schedule activity with the help of a calendar and so on.

The Booth 139, the Emerging Technologies Pavilion, showcased an Adept MT400 mobile platform for delivering interface and content with users. Furthermore, John Dulchinos, the CEO of the Adept Technology was a part of the IFR CEO Round Table Discussion, which was all about being competitive with robots. Automate 2011 is sponsored by the Automation Technologies Council, which is a group consisting of Automated Imaging Association, Robotic Industries Association and the Motion Control Association.
