Adept Technology Unveils Packaging Automation Cell

Adept Technology, a global provider of intelligent robotics, has released a Packaging Automation Cell (PAC), a new automated packaging platform for expeditious packaging applications like meat and poultry packaging which demands both hygienic and adaptable processing.

The PAC will be showcased in booth N-4313 at the Pack Expo 2010, which will be held at the McCormick Place Convention Center, Chicago between October 31 and November 3.

The PAC embraces a robust frame made of stainless steel for enabling it to be washed. It has incorporated the latest Adept products like ultra-compact motion and vision controllers, predefined programming recipes for advanced conveyor-tracking and vision-guidance, world's fastest USDA-accepted robot and a touch-screen operator interface.

The PAC platform can be readily utilized since it features innovative engineering. The effective strategy adopted by the company for launching the product in the market benefits the integrators in terms of quicker project twists and helps the end-users by means of bringing down the procurement cost. Further enhancement to the PAC offered by the collaborators and integrators of Adept include adopting innovative optimization solutions for providing high-volume applications instead of concentrating on the basics of robotic cell like frame design and overall layout. The latest software of PAC platform eliminates the requirement of ambiguous programming for creating exclusive applications.

Rush LaSelle, Director of Sales & Marketing for Adept Technology has stated that Adept PAC was created with the help of domain proficiency and experience obtained in the process of receiving USDA- approval for their Quattro s650HS. He added that the vision enabled PAC embraces easily navigated operator interfaces and a thoughtfully designed frame into a well defined package, which can profoundly reduce time overheads involved in delivery, installation and utilization.

According to John Dulchinos, President and CEO of Adept Technology, the PAC platform has acquired all the significant attributes like adaptability and agility of manual packaging equipments along with throughput and reliability of traditional packaging equipments. He said that the Adept PAC is highly configurable that can be employed in multifarious packaging applications in pharmaceutical and food industries.
