Titan Medical Signs MOU with Apollo Hospitals for Amadeus Robotic Surgical System

Titan Medical has signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with Apollo Hospitals, India for testing and evaluating the performance of Amadeus Next Generation Robotic Surgical Technologies. Apollo Hospitals will be providing Titan Medical a detailed feedback on the testing and evaluation of the Amadeus system after working on the system.

The Amadeus Robotic Surgical System is a four-arm robotic surgical platform which provides the surgeons with unmatched surgical control and accuracy. The technology used to build the robotic surgical system has been adapted from medical, aerospace and defence industries. With the help of the system surgeons are able to conduct remote-surgeries and training. The system allows for seamless switching between live surgeries and training sessions. Some of the notable features of the Amadeus System are multi-articulating arms, sound communication system, enhanced vision systems and real-time feedback to surgeons to know the impact of their movements while performing surgery. The president of Titan Medical considered the signing of the MOU as an opportunity for Titan medical to extend their reach beyond US and tapping robotic surgery markets like India which are in nascent stages. The chairman of Apollo Hospitals regarded robotic surgery as an innovative and efficient tool in performing abdominal, thoracic and pelvic surgery for treating diseases like prostate and uterine cancer.
