Adept Technologies Launches Viper Robot for Improved Payload and Productivity

Adept Technology has come out with a new high-performance six axis robot, Adept Viper s1700D. The Viper is built with high-power motors for better speed of operation and increased payload capacity.

The s1700D robot has a long reach and a small footprint. The robot has been designed to be used in applications that need fast and accurate automation of processes. Applications such as packaging, cutting, material handling, machine tending and assembly can be executed using the Viper robot.

The 1700D robot provides a reach of 1.7 m and is capable of bearing payloads of around 20 Kg. The robot easily integrates into Adept’s portfolio of interchangeable robots and controllers. This makes the deployment and maintenance of the robot easy and availability of spare parts an easy task. The robot facilitates proactive monitoring through its self-diagnostic system. The software used for running the robot is ACE from Adept, which is deployed through a user-friendly interface. Remote control through a PLC or a PC is facilitated through the Ethernet TCP/IP. The Vice President of Adept explained that the robot is most suited for industrial packaging applications. The Viper is available for shipping from December 22.
