Innovative Surgical Robotics to Revolutionize Worldwide Healthcare Market

Published on April 26, 2012 at 5:33 AM

By Andy Choi

Quantum International has recently declared that it is focusing on recent advances in robotics that revolutionize the way some cancers are being treated.

Large incisions need to be created for diagnosing majority of diseases such as gynecologic cancers, and subsequent treatments demand longer recovery period. Hence, less invasive processes are being devised using new robotic tools.

Small robotic tools can reduce the movement of surgeons inside the surgical area. Unlike large incisions made in traditional abdominal surgery, robotic-based diagnosis of gynecological cancer require tiny incisions, through which the arms of a remote-controlled robot will make its way inside the cervix, ovaries or uterus.

In addition, the introduction of robotics in surgery will minimize the significant recovery time and the unbearable pain associated with surgery, and requires just an overnight stay and Ibuprofen. These less-invasive robotic surgery procedures seem to be promising. Moreover, the outcomes can be further improved. Quantum International is currently making efforts to establish the robotics innovations in the potential global healthcare market.

The year 2010 witnessed only 1,752 robotic surgical systems installations, on a global basis. This new, dynamic initiative from QUAN will contribute to further advancements in medical discipline as surgeons demand cost-effective and convenient methods to achieve complex medical procedures. By developing more advanced and innovative surgical robots, the market value of these devices will be enhanced.

The company anticipates declaring its initial business targets in the red-hot robotics space.
