FIRST Robotic Team Students Receive College Scholarship from Teradata

Teradata , an analytic data solutions company has presented ten college scholarships to the student members of For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) robotics teams. The scholarship will promote the students to pursue their careers in science, technology, engineering or mathematics.

The winning team of Teradata-sponsored 2012 FIRST robotics are those involved in 2012 Teradata FIRST college scholarship program. Selection was made among the high school students based on their leadership skills in community, school and their interest to pursue science, technology, engineering or math during the accredited four-year university or college.

Besides offering the $1,000, merit-based scholarships, Teradata also supports FIRST program in regions and states where its offices have been established. Teradata volunteers assist the student robotic teams for designing and developing their robots. In addition, Teradata offers financial grants and provides volunteers for the FIRST Lego League and FIRST Tech Challenges.

The winners at California include Mishan Golshan, of Saratoga, CA, and Forrest Boyd, of Poway, CA. Georgia winners are Helen McDonough, of Roswell, GA; Matthew Clark, of McDonough, GA; and Ethan Everett, of Johns Creek, GA.

North Carolina winners are Mark Stepnowski, of Greensboro, NC; Raveena Chhabria, of Greensboro, NC; and Courtney Edwards, of Greensboro, NC.

Winners from Ohio include Brandon Miller, of Dayton, Ohio; Joshua Adkins, of Vandalia, Ohio.
