Insitu recently declared that its ScanEagle unmanned aircraft system has achieved over 600,000 combat flight hours. Also, it has maintained a 99 % mission-readiness rate.

Insitu Field Service Representative Jason Freeman holds the ScanEagle that logged the 600,000th combat flight hour aboard USS McFaul

Insitu President and CEO, Steve Morrow says that worldwide customers will be benefited from the company’s UAS that exceeds 600,000 combat flight hours. Insitu intends being an expert in challenging environments.

Following eight years of quick innovation, Insitu has provided reliable and consistent tactical intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) services in an efficient manner. It also unveiled the scores of significant ScanEagle upgrades.

Insitu utilizes the data collected from field, through which program managers and engineers can make innovative contributions. More affordable, game-changing technology innovations will result in addition to uninterrupted service.

ScanEagle is modular and can be customized based on specific applications. Based on the existing potentials and proven advancements in imagery and exploitation, previous models can be updated for flight. Further proven capabilities include maintainability and availability, operational security, airspace safety, training and reliability.

According to Morrow, this incredible capability of 600,000 flight hours enables the potential analysis of one aircraft. Insitu’s 513th production ScanEagle achieved its first mission in Iraq’s extensive combat environment during April 2008. It has accrued over 3,500 flight hours ever since and is still being deployed.

Exceeding 600,000 combat flight hours is indeed a milestone achievement. Insitu has manufactured 1,400 ScanEagle aircraft with a 99 % mission-readiness rate in a challenging wartime environment.
