Kirby Lester and Tri State Distribution declared that the Kirby Lester KL60 compact robotic dispenser is the unique pharmacy automation for the TriMaxx 3-sided container/closure/label system. This strategic technology partnership was declared on the eve of the yearly NACDS Pharmacy & Technology Conference that took place at Denver, Colorado.

The Kirby Lester KL60

Generally, pharmacy robots automate conventional, round prescription vials. The engineering challenge created by TriMaxx’s triangular shape has been addressed by Kirby Lester KL60’s capability to allow Tri State customers to automate two sizes, 75cc and 120cc. The KL60 can efficiently apply 1-, 2- or 3- printed and patient-specific information panels on the container. The completion of each labeled, counted and collated prescription can be achieved in just 25-30 s.

As KL60 and TriMaxx are considered as leading technology in the pharmacy industry, the two products are a natural combination.

Launched during 2009 end, the KL60 is a unique, cost-effective, and compact robot in the industry. With over half the reduction in cost and size of other robots, the KL60 is capable of automating over 35%-40% of a retail pharmacy’s total prescriptions.

The TriMaxx extends the space for dosage, refill and warning information compared to a traditional round vial. Using the flat panel design, the patient can read the instructions without the need to rotate the container. Employing larger font size, the third panel serves as a “personal billboard” for custom messages to patient using the medication.
