Think Research - Integrated Voice Commands For Effective Use of Powered Wheelchairs

Researchers at the Case Western Reserve University School of Engineering are working on developing a speech-driven wheelchair to help users with cognitive impairments. The engineers working on this project are aiming create a system that can interpret a joystick command, pass this through a filter to evaluate the surroundings to assess the safety of high-level commands. The development of Smart Wheelchairs will enable users to use powered wheelchairs more effectively.
