Clear Automation and PennEngineering recently declared that they have collaborated to upgrade PEMSERTER Series 3000 Press fastener installation press with specifically designed, unique robotic capabilities.
Clear Automation is an innovator of robotic and machine vision systems and PennEngineering is known for fastening technology. The collaboration between the two companies ensures a potential platform for commercializing hands-off installation of self-clinching fasteners through the latest ROBOTIC PEMSERTER Installation System.
The PEMSERTER Series 3000 press integrates Clear Automation’s newly developed robotic system for performing functions such as picking up, moving and fixing the fasteners. The press provides automated installation of fasteners for alignment with holes. On accomplishing the installation of fasteners, the robot takes away the completed piece of work and progresses to the next task.
The new system is available in two standard packages that are suitable for work piece with different sizes. In order to interface with the PEMSERTER Series 3000 press, the turnkey package integrates an input conveyor with output conveyor, FANUC robot, locator, gripper, and a basic sequence program. This system provides an option where the robot slide can be used to expand work cells for numerous PEMSERTER presses.
The PEMSERTER Series 3000 automatic fastener installation press system is capable of precision, rapid and permanent installation of all types of self-clinching fasteners in thin metal sheets. It does not require hydraulics during operation. Designed with a 24” or 61cm throat depth, the press performs with exceptional cycle rates, featuring ram force up to 16,000 lbs. / 71.2kN. It is capable of being remotely operated via networking.
The system meets the applicable European standards and is CE certified.
