The XYZ Precision Positioning System for Automated Fiber Alignment has been exclusively designed for high-precision requirements in automated fiber alignment and photonics component characterization applications. The system is based on a rapid XYZ piezo scanner with sub-nanometer resolution and a motorized “coarse” positioner with 50 nm resolution and it is possible to accomplish XYZ alignment tasks with superior precision in seconds.
