Green Hills Software Unveils Autonomous Vehicle Open Platform for UAVs

Integrity Security Services, a business unit of Green Hills Software, has unveiled a new autonomous vehicle (AV) Open Platform for the management of autonomous vehicles and universal control segments used in the special computing and embedded market.

The new AV platform presents a highly reliable and safe software base for the autonomous vehicle and UCS developers for programming their UAS applications.

The core of the software is the INTEGRITY-178B real-time operating system (RTOS). This operating system meets the safety requirements of RTCA/DO-178B Level A and also the information assurance requirements of the EAL6+ separation kernel protection profile (SKPP) for absolute security. Green Hills Software is persistent in its effort to ensure that their tools and RTOS adhere to the standards laid down by UCS group for unmanned platforms.

The ISS AV Open Platform, having the INTEGRITY-178B RTOS as its core, provides a high availability framework with a TCP stack and a file system for specific applications. Using this software the platform providers can choose the best suited hardware according to their environment varying from low power deployed devices that are seated on a Humvee to the Air Operations Center which is not particular about the space or weight or power. The AV Platform is compact and scalable and supports Linux, INTEGRITY and Windows operating systems on processors such as Intel, Power Architecture and MIPS. The components that come with the platform are INTEGRITY-178B Real-time Operating System, ISS FIPS-validated proprietary Embedded Cryptographic Toolkit, ISS UCS open platform and optional components such as ISS µSSL, µSSH, µVPN (IPSec/IKEv2), and µLoad Secure Boot Toolkit, ISS Anti-Tamper Platform and TCP Networking Stack, Layer 3 IP Routing.
