Teikyo University Professor Develops Anti-Wasp Robot

Professor Sekine of Teikyo University has developed a Mohican humanoid which can climb a ladder and spray insecticide at wasp nests. The robot features a Mohawk and can be controlled from a safe distance.

Mohican Humanoid

The robot is 5'6" tall and is made of lightweight metal and wood. Its distinct joints are powered by in-built motors. According to Sekine, the operator can offer verbal instructions to the robot, like "climb the ladder" and "OMG, duck, they're flying into your delicate circuitry." This humanoid is likely to be released in the market before next spring.

It was reported that Sekine had started to develop this robot when his friend had been stung over 90 times while involved in wasp controlling efforts.
