Humanoids

A humanoid (from English human and -oid "resembling") is something that has an appearance resembling a human being. The term first appeared in 1912 to refer to fossils which were morphologically similar to, but not identical with, those of the human skeleton. Although this usage was common in the sciences for much of the 20th century, it is now considered rare. More generally, the term can refer to anything with uniquely human characteristics and/or adaptations, such as possessing apposable appendage (thumbs) or the ability to walk in an upright position.

Featured Equipment
Vecna Robotics is developing a remarkable, innovative mobile robot platform called the BEAR (Battlefield Extraction-Assist Robot). Designed for battlefield causality extraction, the BEAR robot has a simplified humanoid upper body structure and a unique lower body—a bipedal structure with traction on each upper and lower leg. Since the BEAR robot’s joints are powered with hydraulic actuators, it has high power density in actuation and it is suitable for applications in battlefield casualty handling and transportation.
Other Equipment
This two-legged walking robot can be used for unmanned missions to collect the various sensor parameters and to transmit the collected data to the control station using wireless means.
The Shadow C6M Smart Motor Hand, compliments the Shadow Dextrous Air Muscle hands. The Shadow Hand is the closest robot Hand to the human Hand available. It provides 24 movements, allowing a direct mapping from a human to the robot.
RoboBuilder can make various types of robots using modular robot modules that anyone from a novice to a specialist can easily learn it with joy. We have realized the world's first robot motion sharing service by developing the precision control technology of the servomotor.
The robot's size was chosen to allow it to operate freely in the human living space and to make it people-friendly. This size allows the robot to operate light switches and door knobs, and work at tables and work benches.
Anthropomorphic" Robots, while Animatronic in nature, are in a category of their own, simply because they represent the highest level of expression of Animatronics from the point of view of their more fluid and human-like body motions. International Robotics was responsible for launching two Anthropomorphic Robot programs for its client Ford Motors, which have been used successfully at Auto Shows throughout the world.
This exciting new humanoid robot offers educators, students and robotic hobbyists a complete robot package. The stable Huroi-II can walk, do flips, cartwheels, dance moves and once programmed. Available two ways, as a kit, so you can enjoy building your robot yourself, or as a pre-assembled.
The Bioloid Kit is an educational kit for building various robots such as the autonomous exploration robot, quadruped puppy robot, hexapod, spider robot and much more.etc.. using a well research high tech daisy chained servo motors. Students will learn many principles on robotics as well as the basis behind actuator movements and DOF angles.
LUCY is a humanoid robot with 16 joints, 2 legs and 2 hands. It was designed based on human’s waling mechanism and the robot itself maintains balance according to the environment while walking. When it falls down, it can stand up by itself and it’s an artificial intelligence robot that learns the motion of joints through experiences.
