New PNF Laser Module for Machine Vision Applications

Power Technology Inc. has launched a new PNF laser module for various machine vision applications like illumination, fluorescence, high-speed road and rail inspection, dimensional scanning, 3-D profiling, imaging etc. The PNF laser module features high-end electronics and can effectively substitute conventional lasers in the machine vision industry.

PNF Laser Module

The power delivered by the PNF laser is in the range of 0.1 to 200 mW, with a wavelength range between 375 nm and 2330 nm. The major features of this laser module are line generators having consistent non-Gaussian intensity, maximum analog, digital or continuous-wave modulation up to 100 MHz and competent optical power and wavelength stabilities.

The PNF laser module can be customized to deliver maximum performance, either at near or distant range. The module utilizes a variable focus technology which helps the user to standardize the laser module’s focus and also to re-organize the line generator for ensuring effective performance.

The size of the PNF laser module is 19.07 × 77 mm and it requires a power supply of 5-VDC. The operating current can be up to 250 mA, with a temperature range between -10 and 48 °C. The other features of the laser module include fan angles options of 10°, 20°, 30°, 45°, 60° or 90°, overvoltage and electrostatic discharge protection, optional collimated output, analog modulation rate of 20 MHz, analog rise time of greater than 50 ns, digital modulation rate of 100 MHz and its rise time in the range of 1 and 6 ns.
