Tektronix Launches Automated Test and Debug Solution for Oscilloscopes

Tektronix has launched the first ever complete automated test and debug solution in the industry that meet the SFP+ PHY ,SFF-8431, and SFP+ Direct Attach Cable specifications and for "10GSFP+CU" measurements. By using this solution the designers and technicians have reported that time consumed by testing has come down and productivity has gone up considerably.

DPO/DSA/MSO70000 Series oscilloscope

The solution offers a new TEKEXP SFP-TX option for the users of DPO/DSA/MSO70000 Series oscilloscopes for choosing the measurements for SFF-8431 SFP+ testing easily. It makes testing very easy by enabling users to perform all the measurements with a single click of a button. The automation of the testing is very useful in generating reports and adhering to compliance requirements.

For requirements that need the test limits to be changed, the testing tool helps in modifying the advanced margin for performance testing. Automation takes care of configuring the masks, limits and measurement parameters and the selected measurements and corresponding configurations are easily changeable through a user interface. Roy Siegel, the general manager at Tektronix, claimed that using the new testing solution companies will be able to bring in innovative SFP+ products to the market that deliver optimum and reliable performance. Additionally six new measurements have been included in the testing kit, such as VMA, Rise Time, DDPWS, UJ, Fall Time and Tx-Qsq. The set up files have been included based on the various signal types such as 8180, PRBS 31 and PRBS9, these files enable users to perform measurements and analysis on different signals. After the test bench is set and the DUT is connected, all that the users have to do is to click the ‘Run’ button and the selected testing is automatically done. In case of the SFP-TX solution the user is instructed to put the DUT in various testing modes and messages are displayed at regular intervals.
