Pilz Automation has introduced InduraNET p, a wireless communication system that the robotic industry can use.
InduraNET
The role played by robots in the industrial automation sector, packaging industry, automotive industry and sheet metal working applications has increased steadily. The increase in the level of automation in the production processes has created a great demand for robots.
The robotics industry requires a wireless transmission system that is reliable and supports the communication of standard I/O data gathered from mobile plants or machine sections. The new InduraNET p (Industrial Radio Network) from Pilz has been developed to suit the needs of the industrial environments. The remote IP67 module in the system is suitable for use with robots. The unit is resistant to dust and water as there are no open circuits and cables. Some of the features of the InduraNET are unique antenna system, rugged design, IP67 remote module, easy working with other wireless systems. Since it is devoid of open circuits or cables it can be placed close to the process and directly on the sensors. As the InduraNET is compatible with the existing network architectures it offers a high degree of flexibility in choosing the fieldbus and control system. The InduraNET system is capable of replacing data light beams, sliding contacts and trailing cables.
