Somfy Systems, Inc., the world's largest manufacturer of radio-controlled motors (Radio Technology Somfy® -- RTS) for interior and exterior window coverings, will have its motorization solutions featured in an interoperability display sponsored by Worthington Distribution at the Z-Wave Alliance Booth #20800 during the 2013 International CES.
Worthington Distribution and Somfy will demonstrate the value and convenience Somfy-powered motorized window coverings add to home automation systems. Worthington's interoperability display at the Z-Wave Alliance will use an HAI controller to manage a motorized roller shade, lights, thermostats and locks. This system features an HAI touchscreen and a motorized roller shade powered by Somfy's ultra-quiet Sonesse® 30 RS485 digital motor. The motor is integrated into the HAI controller using the Z-Wave to Digital Motor interface, providing 2-way communication for real-time position status. Additional features of the system include a scene controller, wired lighting controls, plug-in modules, an RCS thermostat, and a Yale lock, all using Z-Wave technology.
"We've been promoting Somfy for years though our Worthington University dealer education courses," said Richard Scholl, President of Worthington Distribution. "CES gives us the opportunity to share the benefits of home automation systems that feature motorization while proving how simple integrating Somfy-powered products can be."
CES 2013 is being held at the Las Vegas Convention Center January 8-11.
