Wi-Fi in the Sky

With complete 2.4GHz Wi-Fi integration connecting to mobile device platforms running Android or iOS, users can control the Blackbird X10 camera through the Aries App in real time and direct the camera to frame the subject or scene with absolute precision. The app's mobile display enables shooters to start and stop video recordings, take a still shot, or make changes to the settings and vary the field of view of the lens. Mobile devices can be securely mounted to the main controller using the Mobile Device Mount, which ships with the Blackbird X10.

The Aries Repeater, which also ships with the Blackbird X10, is a wireless communication device that works in the 2.4GHz frequency band, and is used to increase the effective communication distance between the mobile device and quadcopter. The Aries Repeater increases the effective wireless range by approximately 1,000 feet, depending on conditions.

Reliable Control in a Comfortable Package

Users can remotely control the quadcopter's direction and acceleration using the transmitter, which commands basic flight maneuvers such as climb, descend, roll and pitch using two easily mastered joystick controls. The Aries Blackbird X10 transmitter features an ergonomic grip to offer the most comfortable piloting experience.

Cinematographers striving to get the best possible flight control will rely on the GPS navigation system to keep the quadcopter stable, maintaining a fixed horizontal and vertical position. The flight is piloted via the wireless flight transmitter with a communication range of up to 1,600 feet. Satellite accuracy maintains flight data calibration and compass settings, and defends against electronic interference.

Maximizing Airtime

The Aries Blackbird X10 sports a massive 5300mAh lithium battery system that has been enhanced to maximize airtime, giving the quadcopter an impressive 25 minutes of flight time on one charge. The interchangeable battery charges externally and slips into the quadcopter's rear chamber. The Blackbird X10 has audible and visual alerts when the battery is running low. To charge, simply plug the battery into a wall outlet with the supplied power cord and the Blackbird will be back in the air again in no time. One 5300mAh lithium battery and charger ships with the Aries Blackbird X10; additional batteries can be purchased separately for 129 USD.

Autopilot with Failsafe Mode

Safety systems are integrated in the X10's heart. When the flight controls are released or there is loss of control, the copter automatically hovers, using its GPS-accurate guidance to maintain position and height, regardless of wind conditions.

With the Failsafe mode, if the Aries Blackbird X10 loses the signal from the transmitter, the Automatic Flight Control system will control the quadcopter, pilot it to a safe height, then return it to the starting point and land it safely. The Blackbird X10 will automatically go into Failsafe mode when the transmitter is turned off or runs out of batteries, if the flight distance is beyond the effective range of the transmitter signal, if there are obstructions between the transmitter and the quadcopter, or if there is interference in transmitter signal.

Protect Your Vision with the Aries Blackbird X10 Propeller Guards

A set of Aries Blackbird X10 propeller guards will protect the quadcopter and other property from damage caused by the spinning propellers. Rather than allowing obstacles to interfere with the propellers, damaging the X10 drone and compromising its flight in mid-air, these propeller guards will ensure that nothing contacts the spinning blades.
