Teledyne DALSA Introduces New 2k and 4k GigE Vision Line Scan Cameras

Teledyne DALSA, a Teledyne Technologies company and global leader in machine vision, today announced the expansion of its Linea family of low-cost, high-value line scan cameras with new 2k and 4k GigE Vision models. Compact and feature-rich, Linea cameras deliver high speed and flexibility, and help lower the cost of inspection for an ever-widening array of applications.

Multi-featured Linea™ GigE cameras deliver exceedingly fast line rates with proprietary TurboDrive™ technology

Like the Camera Link models, the newly released Linea GigE cameras offer users a broad feature set, including up to 2x2 binning and multiple ROI, and for the new GigE versions, cycling mode, extended dynamic range imaging, and Teledyne DALSA’s latest innovation, TurboDrive™. TurboDrive is a proprietary and patent-pending technology that allows the 2k and 4k Linea GigE models to utilize the full speed of the sensor (up to 80 kHz line rate) with no loss of image quality.

The new Linea GigE line scan cameras take full advantage of the Sapera™ LT Software Development Kit (SDK) and field proven Trigger-to-Image-Reliability™ framework for image acquisition and control, non-intrusive monitoring and tracking images throughout the acquisition process.

With their unmatched feature set, low-cost and high speed, Linea cameras are well-positioned to replace more expensive and multiple camera sets, or camera and frame grabber combinations, reducing overall system cost and complexity.

  • TurboDrive defies the GigE bandwidth limitation, acquiring 4k pixels at up to 80kHz
  • Cycling mode allows users to cycle through preset camera parameters, gain, exposure time, I/O outputs and FFC coefficients for each line.
  • HDR imaging technology acquires short and longer exposures and outputs images that preserve detail in both dark and bright areas

“The introduction of the Linea GigE cameras is game-changing,” commented Behnam Rashidian, Senior Product Manager. “Linea GigE cameras offer unparalleled image quality, an unprecedented set of features and flexibility, breakthrough data transfer technology, and are extremely affordable.”

Available in 2k and 4k resolution, the Linea GigE models deliver fast line rates of 80 kHz with high sensitivity. Volume quantity pricing for the 2k Linea GigE camera starts at $1100 USD. Visit the Linea product page and for full resolution images, visit our media kit.
