An industry-leading publication and an international drone company has teamed up to provide current and prospective commercial UAV users with the information they need to navigate new legislation, get started with UAVs, and improve their business efficiency, data accuracy, and profits.

Inside Unmanned Systems and microdrones™ are pleased to announce they will be hosting a webinar called Part 107 Rule: Impact on Key Application Segments in the Commercial Drone Market. The event will take place on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at 12:00 P.M. EDT. Because it is a web-based event, participants can join the conversation from anywhere in the world.

The event will be moderated by Demoz Gebre-Egziabher, a professor of aerospace engineering and mechanics at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, USA. The expert panel for this webinar includes:

  • Major General James O. Poss (ret) of ISR Ideas, is a leading expert on UAS, having targeted the first armed UAS strikes, designed the US Air Force's remote split operations system for UAS control, and designed the Distributed Common Ground Station for UAS intelligence analysis. General Poss is the Executive Director of the Alliance for System Safety of UAS through Research Excellence (ASSURE) of the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Center of Excellence Team. ASSURE consists of 18 of the top US, Canadian and British UAS research universities with 100+ corporate members collaborating to solve the FAA's UAS research issues. General Poss works for MSU at their Stennis Space Center Campus. He is a 30-year US Air Force veteran with combat experience in four wars and was the Air Force's senior career intelligence officer at his transition from active service in November 2012.
  • Mike Hogan is microdrones' Business Development Director, in charge of identifying new business opportunities and helping clients be more successful. Hogan has extensive knowledge of UAS for industrial applications due to his vast experience helping professionals incorporate the technology into their businesses. Prior to serving microdrones customers, Hogan served in the Royal Canadian Air Force for 21 years as an Intelligence Officer, a Geomatics Officer, and an Airfield Engineer.
  • Ben Van Lare is Operations Manager for Raecon Industries. Van Lare works with a team of professionals in the power, construction, and technology industries to evaluate and integrate the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) into the commercial work environment. Not only does he specialize in UAV usage and piloting, but also in project management and business development. He is happy to act as a resource for those who have questions on either of these topics for businesses using UAS.
