NASA to Launch Sophisticated Mobile Robotic Laboratory for Mars Mission

A highly sophisticated mobile robotic laboratory of NASA is in its final phase of preparation and will be launched on November 25 from Florida’s Space Coast. The Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) mission will carry the space exploration vehicle, Curiosity, which has advanced scientific capabilities when compared to any rover sent to another planet. Curiosity is presently awaiting launch atop the Atlas V rocket from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.

JP Aerospace Launches Unmanned High Altitude Tandem Airship into Space

The Tandem high altitude airship was launched from the Black Rock desert in Neveda on 22 October into the edge of space. The launch surpasses current world record for the highest altitude, with a launch altitude of 95,085 ft.

NASA Invites Registrations for Third Annual Lunabotics Competition

NASA has announced the third annual Lunabotics Mining Competition to be held from May 21 to 26, 2012 at NASA’s Kennedy Florida Center. Competitors will be required to conceptualize and develop an independent or a remote-controlled robot that can be used for future lunar exploration.
