3D Systems Releases Virtual Reality Robotic Prostatectomy Training Module

3D Systems announced today the release of a virtual reality robotic prostatectomy training module and 3D printed soft tissue models that will assist urologists in the training and planning of robotic procedures. 3DS' anatomical 3D printed models and the RobotiX Mentor's new Prostatectomy Module will be showcased at the Annual Meeting for the American Urological Association (AUA), May 15 - 19, 2015 in New Orleans in booth #953.

First Clinical Procedure Completed using Magellan 10Fr Robotic Catheter

Interventional radiologist Dr. Gerard Goh performed the procedure at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. Columbia Engineering Faculty Wins YIP Grant for Research on Human-Robot Collaborative Teams

Matei Ciocarlie, assistant professor of mechanical engineering at Columbia Engineering, has been awarded a three-year $637,000 Young Investigator Program (YIP) grant from the Office of Naval Research (ONR) for his work on human-in-the-loop systems in which humans and robotic manipulators work together, side by side, on the same task. He is one of 36 college and university faculty to win a 2015 grant from YIP, one of the oldest and most selective scientific research advancement programs in the country.
