Neato Robotics has introduced Neato Robotics XV-15, an advanced robotic vacuum cleaner. The cleaner has a distinct square-tail design.

The vacuum cleaner makes use of 360º laser-mapping technology to survey the room size and to determine position of obstacles before commencing work. The cleaner easily glides into the room and walks around the boundaries before moving inwards. By doing a survey of the room before beginning to clean it, since there is no energy wasted for unnecessary sucking as compared to previous models. This saved power is redirected to the motor to increase the suction capability.
The core component of the vacuum cleaner is the centrifugal compression impeller. This impeller follows the jet engine airflow principles to deliver what Neato claims as an unmatched cleaning performance. With the help of the laser-guidance system, the robotic cleaner is able to avoid any obstacle which is more than four inches in height. Since the cleaner is of less height it can efficiently clean under tables, sofas or beds. Some of its other useful features include a scheduler for continuous cleaning and its capability to navigate to the dock when it needs to be recharged. It has an attractive appearance, shaped like a square to allow a larger dirt collecting bin and ensures superior corner cleaning.
