Additional Kiosks Reduce Downtime of Movie Kiosks Due to Robotic Malfunctions

One of the main challenges that the movie kiosk industry faces is the downtime which is caused by the malfunctioning of the robotic machinery.

Movie Kiosk

Xona Media has come up with a new concept of having three kiosks in place of one to address this issue. The improved kiosk is called MK3 Movie Kiosk and it comes with three independent systems with separate dispensing doors. By having additional kiosks even if one of them malfunctions, the other two will keep the system running.

The newly released System Tools version 2.0 from Xona Media ensures that one of the systems is always available for dispensing DVD’s to the consumers in the event of malfunction in any of the other kiosks. At all times one robotic dispensing unit is always available in working condition so that business is not affected. Having back up kiosks ensures that transactions even during robotic malfunctions, without causing any inconvenience to customers guarantee uninterrupted flow of revenue. With the help of System Tools 2.0 the Robotic Dispensing systems are managed independently through remote control. The operators are automatically intimated whenever there is an issue in the working of the system and he will be able to diagnose and rectify the issue remotely. The COO of Xonamedia explained that any business that deals with machines is bound to have maintenance issues and in order to ensure that business transactions are not disrupted by these issues it is important to have an effective back up plan in place.
