Zephyr Releases Remote Monitoring System for Transitional Care

Zephyr Technology is proud to announce the release of ZephyrLIFE™ – the world’s first remote monitoring system designed specifically for the growing market of transitional care. Transitional care involves managing the continuity of health care during the transition between health care practitioners and facilities as a patient’s condition and care needs change during the course of a chronic or acute illness, which ZephyrLIFE has been designed for.

ZephyrLIFE increases safety, reduces never events and assists clinicians in providing care in hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and homes. Using wearable sensors, wireless communication to the cloud and advanced workflow based algorithms and data display, ZephyrLIFE saves costs, increases revenue.

ZephyrLIFE is designed to be easily deployed while remaining able to be integrated enterprise-wide – with industry standard interfaces to electronic medical records, such as Epic, Rhapsody and other web-based systems.

Deployed in multiple hospitals, ZephyrLIFE has been used to aide in fall and bed sore prevention, enhance sepsis detection and assist in remote titration of care.

Zephyr recently completed a 2-year Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) trial of ZephyrLIFE in partnership with Qualcomm Life, Verizon Wireless, NIH, IHS and Flagstaff Hospital in Arizona. The results of the study indicated a 3-fold increase in time between hospital visits and a 2-fold decrease in the cost of patient care.

Gigi Sorensen, CNO of Flagstaff Hospital stated, “The Zephyr system enabled critical patient communication with the clinical staff leading to the improvements in care.”

Brian Russell, CEO of Zephyr Technology agreed, “This is a huge leap forward – with the first fully operational system to truly deliver on the promise of wearable, wireless care that follows patients from the hospital into their homes. ZephyrLIFE continues to lead the industry in wearable, wireless health solutions.”

See ZephyrLIFE at 2013 mHealth Summit

Zephyr will be showcasing ZephyrLIFE at the Qualcomm Life Pavilion during the 2013 mHealth Summit, December 8-11, 2013 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center.
