PLTW Collaborates With Vex Robotics

Project Lead the Way (PLTW), pioneer in providing science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education, has partnered with VEX Robotics to offer the latest innovative opportunities for the present and upcoming PLTW schools.

As per the contract, PLTW will include VEX Robotics Design System in the PLTW schools, enabling their students to join several courses that have been upgraded with project oriented and arduous hands-on robotics curriculum. Robotics education of PLTW enables students to understand the STEM field and also provides the latest and novel robotic solutions to their projects.

PLTW schools may commence utilizing VEX Robotics Design System during the 2011 to 2012 school year.

Further, each PLTW classroom can take part in the VEX Robotics Contest, the fastest growing robotics contest worldwide. This contest enables students to employ their robotics classroom education in a distinctive and analytical environment.

John Lock, CEO of PLTW, has stated that robotics is not only a significant area of study for taking up STEM related jobs, but also combines the critical and inventive skills, which serve as basis for any intellectual quest. He added that they are determined to work with VEX Robotics for developing the innovators of the next generation.

Paul Copioli, President of VEX Robotics, has stated that their collaboration with PLTW will expose thousands of school children to the VEX Robotics Design System, not only inside the classrooms but also in after-school robotics contests. He added that they are looking forward to including a lot more students in the coming years.
