Bretford Offers App-Enabled Charge and Sync Products that Allow Remote Monitoring in the UK

Bretford Manufacturing, Inc.®, a global manufacturer of technology-enabled furniture for learning and business environments, today announced the UK availability of the world’s first app-enabled charge and sync products designed specifically for iPad and iPad mini devices.

PowerSync+ charge and sync carts and station combined with the PowerSync+ mobile app sets the standard with features that allow for remote monitoring of connected devices, freeing up the schedule to focus on other tasks. The PowerSync+ family and PowerSync+ app are currently available and will be shown in the Bretford stand (#B126), during the Bett show at Excel in London 21-24 January 2015.

“After great success in the U.S., we are ready to expand the availability of our PowerSync+ charge and sync products into the UK market, where our customers are requesting these solutions due to the growing use of iPad devices in schools and businesses,” explained Jim Fisher, international product manager for Bretford Manufacturing, Inc. “The Bett show is the ideal forum to debut PowerSync+ products and the PowerSync+ app to the education market and to demonstrate firsthand just how these products help advance the use and care of iOS devices for teaching and learning.”

The PowerSync+ products come with pre-installed Lightning cables, so they are ready to go right out of the box. They provide simultaneous, full-time full-rate charging — up to 2.4 A — even while connected to a Mac so unplugging isn’t necessary once syncing is complete. And with Apple Configurator integration, the port numbers of the units are displayed, making it easy to know which devices are ready to use. Bretford PowerSync+ products include:

  • PowerSync+ Cart™ 40: Offers greater capacity in a compact footprint for up to 40 devices. The divider system is reconfigurable, offering maximum flexibility for protective cases.
  • PowerSync+ Cart 20: Contains all the same features as the Cart 40, but holds up to 20 devices and includes secure storage for corresponding accessories such as headphones, keyboards, and more. This allows all the demands of the curriculum to be accommodated in a single cart and within the same compact footprint.
  • PowerSync+ Station™ 20: Can be individually mounted on the wall or stacked up to three units high. It offers an additional USB port to daisy chain up to three units for the management of up to 60 devices from a single host Mac.

The PowerSync+ app provides a window into the PowerSync+ products by displaying remote status for all connected iOS devices, showing which are fully charged and which ones need more time. During the workday, facility managers will always know when the devices are ready to go, with push notifications to inform when all the devices are fully charged or when the Apple Configurator workflow has completed. After hours, the app provides alerts if devices are disconnected or if the cart or station goes offline. And PowerSync+ enabled carts and stations can be tagged by location or other information to organize and search as needed.
