RMT Robotics to Supply Robotic Case Picking System for Beer Distributor

RMT Robotics has signed an agreement with a leading beer distributor of North America. The compact picking system will occupy less than 40,000 square feet of floor space. Around 300 SKUs can be picked by the system at the rate of 250,000 cases per day. The project is likely to  set off by the end of 2011.

The beer distributing company has reported that the decision to choose RMT Robotics’ case picking system is due to its compact and superior design as well as the company’s expertise in designing systems that optimize operations and enhance service functionalities, which is at par with their business missions. The distributor is looking forward for an enhanced throughput, order precision and overall output.

The robotic case picking system features many robotic gantries for picking a blend of full layers and loose cases. The automated system will offer enhanced picking precision and product traceability. It also significantly brings down product damage. Its innovative replenishment feature assures storage of only the needed inventory for order fulfillment, thereby reducing the footprint of the system.
