Northrop Grumman has been contracted to deliver 44 additional STARLite wide area surveillance radars for the MQ-1C Gray Eagle unmanned aircraft system of the U.S. Army. While on its way to first destination, NASA's Mars rover Curiosity has encountered a football-size rock. With only 8 ft of distance and halfway from Bradbury Landing, Curiosity's landing site to Glenelg, the rock will be the first target of examination for rover. Using spectrometer, researchers will analyze and resolve the elemental composition of rock, followed by capturing pictures using an arm-mounted camera.
