Remote Monitoring Systems to be Installed at Hanford Waste Treatment Plant

Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS), a prime service provider to the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of River Protection, has issued a purchase order for four more remote monitoring systems to White Door, a subsidiary of Critical Solutions.

The basic purpose of the purchase is to use innovative tower systems for ensuring security at the Hanford waste treatment plant. These systems have been arranged to be installed at the Hanford waste treatment plant for providing surveillance and preventing accidents or incidents in Hanford's 177 underground tanks. The radioactive waste product stored in these underground tanks poses the risk of the release of about 53,000,000 gallons of radioactive substance into the surroundings. Critical Solutions has already supplied about 20 units of the remote monitoring equipment to WRPS prior to the current purchase order.

White Door 's Executive Vice President of Business Development, John Jacob stated that the company has received the purchase order owing to their sincerity and dedication in designing remote monitoring systems that are solely powered using renewable sources of energy. He also asserted that the new order has proved the effectiveness of the already installed remote surveillance systems.
