Thermaltronics Awarded for Full Vision Soldering Robot at productronica

Thermaltronics USA, Inc. announces that it was awarded a 2019 Global Technology Award in the category of Soldering Robots for its TMT-R9900S Inline Robot Soldering System. The award was presented to the company during a Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2019 ceremony that took place during productronica in Munich, Germany.

A spokesman for Thermaltronics stated that, “Expertise in hand soldering, combined with high quality components and innovative software, has established the company as a leader in robotic soldering. While there are many solder robots on the market today – Thermaltronics has established accuracy and yield levels which surpass those of the competitors.”

Unlike typical Cartesian robots the Thermaltronics Robot, Model TMT-R9900S, functions as an inline or stand-alone production system and is equipped with full vision to verify the procedure being undertaken and does not simply follow a pre-determined program. In this respect it has an observation mode, a verification mode and as a result – a decision making capability.

This equipment is autonomously capable of collecting and utilizing data for production processing, which is one of the most important factors necessary to meet the requirements of Industry 4.0 standards. Features include:

  • 8 Axis Soldering/Dispensing Platform
  • Full vision mapping & Fiducial Marks
  • Laser Height Measurement
  • Curie Heat Technology provides precise temp. control
  • Dynamic Compensation for board variance
  • Dispensing System
  • Nitrogen Protection
  • PCB Loader w/ Preheater

Premiering in 2005, the Global Technology Awards program is an annual celebration of product excellence in electronics surface mount assembly. Premier products based on the finest examples of creative advancement in technology are chosen by a distinguished panel of industry experts.
