FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), a not-for-profit organization that encourages young students to participate in projects relating to Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) subjects, has declared that it has collaborated with PTC, a key supplier for FIRST, to conduct the FIRST Tech Challenge competition in countries such as India, Eastern Europe, and China.
PTC, a key supplier for FTC CAD, has also sponsored the FIRST 2010-2011 competition. The 2011 FIRST competitions will take place at Bucharest, Shanghai, and Mumbai or Delhi on April 2, April 23, and August 15 respectively.
In preparation for this year’s FRC and FTC seasons, PTC has conducted more than 40 practical sessions for students, teachers, volunteers, and mentors. Students can learn about three-dimensional design and collaboration technology at these workshops. PTC has also modeled the 2011 FTC and FRC Kit-of-Parts, which helps robotic teams to accelerate the design phase.
