Bota Systems and NEXT Robotics Announce Collaboration in Germany, Austria and Switzerland

Bota Systems, a pioneer in multi-axis force torque sensors, announces that NEXT robotics has become its official distributor for the German-speaking countries of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Bota Systems and NEXT robotics will be co-exhibiting at the international trade fair for automation in production and assembly Motek (Hall7, Booth 7103), from October 10 to 13 in Stuttgart, Germany.

Marcus Frei, CEO of NEXT Robotics GmbH& Co. KG, said, “In the past two years we have supplied Bota sensors for powerful solutions with robotic arms like the ones from Universal Robots and Mecademic. The high quality sensors from Bota are a perfect match for our robots giving them the sense of touch that can be measured, processed und used for particularly complex and critical applications. Strengthening collaboration with Bota is a logical step for us as a system house for novel robotics.”

Klajd Lika, CEO and Founder of Bota Systems AG, noted, “Since we work closely with Mecademic and are a certified UR+ partner for Universal Robots, making NEXT our official distributor for the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) makes perfect sense. A stock of Bota sensor inventory at NEXT will achieve shorter lead times for new and existing customers in these countries.” NEXT robotics is well established in the DACH region and is already the official distribution and integration partner of Mecademic and Universal Robots.

6-axis force torque sensors MiniONE, MiniONE Pro and Medusa from Bota Systems are a perfect fit for Mecademic’s robots, and its SensONE sensor and sensor kit are UR+ certified for use with Universal Robots.

Bota will be showcasing its entire sensor range at the Motek trade fair (Hall 7, Booth 7103), with two live demos at the booth. The first will be a Mecademic Meca500 robot with a 6-axis force torque sensor, demonstrating various applications including product testing, small part assembly and micro polishing. The second will be a Universal Robots UR3 with a 6-axis force torque sensor performing various tasks such as grinding and polishing.

NEXT robotics is a system house for novel robotics and cobotics, headquartered in Moenchweiler in Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany. The location entails a technology center that serves as a showroom, application, systems and experience center with demonstration displays including those of Bota Systems. The center is also used to do workshops, trainings and seminars on various topics in the field of robotics with partners like Bota Systems.

A robotic force torque sensor is a device that simultaneously measures force and torque that is applied to a surface. The measured output signals are used for real-time feedback control enabling robots to perform challenging human-machine interaction tasks. The sensor that is most commonly used for these types of robotic applications is a complete six-axis force torque sensor, which measures the force and torque on all three axes.
