Thermo Fischer Scientific Introduces Automated Aliquoting Liquid Handler

Thermo Fisher Scientific has launched an aliquoting liquid handler CV2000 that is fully automated. This novel advanced platform ensures improvement in laboratory efficiency through workflow automation.

The handler enables processing of nearly 1000 samples per hour and precise dispensing of liquid volumes of 100 to 875 µL. The handler is equipped with rotary height sensors and a robotic arm and hence can be used conveniently in automated workflows to increase sample throughput. The system can be used with a broad range of sample management software and can also be used independently. The system efficiently manages samples to ensure increment in productivity and efficiency with nil cross-contamination.

The Thermo Scientific CV2000 can be utilized with a number of rack formats and enables users to modify the mounting and dispensing procedure as per their specific requirements. An innovative tip preservation system enables the instrument to dispose only used tips, minimizing waste and getting rid of contamination. The handler can hold up to 300 samples and has space to accommodate both the 45 and 90 ml urine containers. It is possible to automate the entire workflow of the aliquoting urine from the initial samples to the analyzer racks. Additionally, the system produces a batch report that shows compatibility with downstream analysis instrumentation that is utilized in the processing of urine samples.

The Thermo Scientific CV2000 provides complete security and ease and is equipped with locking guards, active opening and closing system. The system satisfies the regulation of the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
