Gecko Systems and ZMPJapan Sign MOU for Development of Advanced Mobile Robots

Gecko Systems and ZMP-Japan have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for developing robotic technologies that mutually benefit the companies.

According to the MOU both the companies will need to work together on development and marketing of robotic technologies and related products within USA and Japan. The marketing of robotic products can be extended to other countries as well.

The projects that are listed for development under the MOU are Mobile Service Robot, Collision Free car and Collision Free Wheelchair. The MOU takes effect immediately and both the companies will need to work together on these robotic products. The companies will be working towards a common goal of developing technologies that will enable safe and comfortable life for people, especially the disabled and the elderly. The GeckoSavant is a generic name given to the Mobile Robotic Solutions which are driven by Artificial Intelligence and software engines. Some of the products that fall under this generic category are GeckoSteer, GeckoNav, GeckoSuper, GeckoMotorcontroller etc. All these systems are made up of multiple layers of sensors which enhance situational awareness. These systems are useful in the care of elderly and are useful for caregivers by relieving them of much physical strain while caring for patients and elderly.
