Seegrid Introduces GC4 Vision Guided Robotic Stand-Up Forklift at MODEX 2012

US based Seegrid has introduced the GC4 vision guided stand-up forklift at MODEX 2012. The unmanned robotic industrial truck uses the company’s proprietary vision guided navigation system and is built on a readymade Class I forklift chassis.

The GC4 robotic truck has the ability to transport palletized loads within warehouses and manufacturing facilities without requiring the use of wires, tapes, lasers and other modifications in facilities.

The GC4 can be used for long haul, cross-docking, transfers and putaway and hence helps in reducing costs and increasing productivity and improving safety. The product also helps in reducing initial investment and cost of ownership. GC4 helps workers to concentrate on tasks that have higher values within the manufacturing facility. The robotic truck can undertake more than one route for a shift and change the routes for the other shifts. The GC4 helps in reducing the dependence on adhoc or seasonal workers. The product enables consistent safety and controlled truck speeds. The route of one robotic truck can be transferred to another robotic truck. The product also helps workers in meeting and exceeding performance standards since it reduces manned travel distances.
